Surge is currently accepting applications for the position Accounts Payable Accountant.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Reviewing, coding, and processing accounts payable invoices within OpenInvoice in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy
  • Liaise with field personnel to manage invoice flow in OpenInvoice and process invoices, assist with coding requirements and approval limits/authority levels
  • Assist with vendor queries; verify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies within vendor accounts, which may result in reconciling and recording journal entries in Qbyte FM
  • Record manual accounts payable & receivable entries in Qbyte FM
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Continuously review processes and implement improvements to ensure efficiency in all areas
  • Ad-Hoc reporting and any assigned special projects

Qualifications:

  • Strong work ethic with 2+ years of work experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience with the Oil & Gas industry considered an asset
  • Experience with Qbyte, OpenInvoice and intermediate skill level with Excel is an asset
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
  • Highly motivated to handle a busy and varied workload
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are important for this role
  • Exceptional relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
