Surge is currently accepting applications for the position of Joint Venture Accountant.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review and analysis of both operated and non-operated joint venture billings, verifying service fees are in accordance with joint venture agreements.
  • Preparation of monthly account reconciliations to facilitate dispute resolutions and account payments.
  • Review A/R balances and prepare statements for partners, working with Court assigned receivers on collections if required.
  • Coordinate monthly cheque runs monitoring both A/P and A/R accounts.
  • Actively analyzing and collecting aged Accounts Receivables, and will be responsible for processing the monthly JV cheque runs.
  • Process deposit entries.
  • Preparation and analysis of A/P and A/R quarterly reports and write offs.
  • Ad-Hoc reporting, continuous process improvement, and any assigned special projects.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of direct Joint Venture Accounting experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Qbyte (FM and Optix), CS Explorer and Petrinex experience would be an asset
  • Exceptional relationship building and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail are a must
